RENTAL CAMPER MALAGA EXPERIENCES

In this section Rental Camper Malaga Experiences want to share some of the most spectacular places with you. We are keen to hear from our costumers to share their experiences to help other travellers and of course would be delighted to speak with you at any time.

CAMINITO DEL REY

The Caminto del Rey is located in the Paraje Natural Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, between the municipalities of Alora, Antequera and Ardales. The Desfiladero de los Gaitanes is a canyon excavated by the River Guadalhorce with access from the north by the Guadalhorce estuary and from the south by the Chorro.

The name El Caminito del Rey (The King's Little Way) is due to the fact that Alfonso XIII inaugurated the work on this maintenance road for the water channel between the northern reservoirs and El Chorro. The purpose of this work was to take advantage of the difference in levels to create energy from a hydroelectric power station.

This path is known as the footbridges and is about 3 km long. The path runs between vertical walls and a bridge in the same gorge over the water channel. Nowadays walking along this path is possible due to the reforms that were made, providing security to all its visitors. The activity will take between 3 and 4 hours, cost 10 euros per person including safety helmet. We recommend booking in advanced as this is always a popular adventure.

TORCAL DE ANTEQUERA

El Torcal de Antequera is a unique natural site, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a Natural Site of more than 1000 hectares located in Antequera and Villanueva de la Concepción, province of Malaga.

It is known for the curious shapes that the various erosive agents have been modelling on its limestone rocks, forming an outstanding example of a karstic landscape. It was recognized as the first Andalusian Protected Natural Area in 1929 and in 1978 it was declared a Natural Reserve Park. And already in 2014 it was declared Special Conservation Area and Special Area for the Protection of Birds.

The visit to this spectacular area is free and also offers the possibility of guided tours and other activities.
